The Château Pichon Longueville Baron is one of Pauillac's jewels. It is regularly part of the Hachette des Vins guide's favourites for its excellent quality/price ratio.

In 2004, Château Pichon Baron already managed to produce a wine of very high quality. For the 2005 vintage, Château Pichon Baron has produced a monument!

It is dressed in a dark, almost black colour with hints of burgundy.
The 2005 Pichon Baron gives off a very fruity freshness on the nose, with hints of blackberries and black cherries covered with a hint of finely woody notes.
On the palate, Château Pichon Baron 2005 opens with an attack full of finesse. Ample and round on the palate, it is structured by very fine and velvety tannins which amplify until a very long finish of several tens of seconds.

Considered one of Pauillac's best wines of the 2005 vintage by Robert Parker, Château Pichon Baron 2005 is still a bit young and will only reveal its full potential after a few years in the cellar.
