About Pétrus 2002
Bottle (75cl)

Pétrus is one of the only estates not benefiting from the Château denomination. Despite everything, it never stopped him from becoming a true wine legend!

The Pétrus vineyard covers an area of 11.4 hectares, mainly planted with Merlot (about 95%), the rest being planted with Cabernet Franc.

2002 seemed to be a bad vinatge for Pétrus. Indeed, Christian Moueix, the estate's administrator, has even thought of not releasing any wine for this vintage... Fortunately, thanks to a production divided by two and the great know-how of his cellar master, Pétrus 2002 is born.
And it's not just another Petrus, it has all the potential to be one of the best wines of the estate!

Petrus 2002 is dressed in a superb dark purple robe, almost black in the glass.
On the first nose, it surprises with its great aromatic power. It literally explodes in the glass, offering fruity aromas of blackberries and black cherries, coated with the nobility of truffle, liquorice and dark chocolate. This explosion of scents is accompanied by a well-defined touch of minerality.
On the palate, Petrus 2002 is impressively pure. Powerful, full-bodied and dense, it covers the palate with ripe red fruit, accompanied by silky tannins and perfectly integrated to its mid-bodied, but impressively long finish.

Petrus 2002, like its elders, has an impressive ageing potential. It will reach its peak in 5 to 20 years, but it may last even longer!
