It is undoubtedly thanks to the incredible know-how of the cellar master, who launched early harvests, that the 1976 Montrose is doing just as well today.
Made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet, Merlot and Petit Verdot, Château Montrose 1976 is dressed in a deep purple colour, slightly amber on the edges.
On the nose, it reveals itself to be ripe and complex, distilling a bouquet of blackberries and blackcurrants mixed with woody scents (cedar) and enhanced by notes of leather.
On the palate, Château Montrose 1976 offers fruity aromas subtly blended with earthy notes and cigar tobacco. It is a medium-bodied wine, full of complexity, with fine and granular tannins on the palate.
Only the greatest estates have the talent to produce good wines kept in bad vintages. Château Montrose is definitely one of them!
