Premier Cru Classé
Château Margaux 1970 is composed of four traditional grape varieties from the Margaux appellation: Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot.
As always, the grapes were harvested by hand and after three weeks of vatting, the wine was matured for 18 to 24 months in new barrels.
The 1970 vintage of Château Margaux has a magnificent bright red colour with warm and orange hints.
On the nose, it offers a mature and flowery bouquet with notes of roses, undergrowth and tar, wrapped in a hint of cedar.
In the mouth, Château Margaux 1970 is rather closed at first. The tannins are compact.
After a few seconds of shaking in the glass, Margaux 1970 finally opens. The tannins are then unfurled to awaken with them the aromas of red and black fruits asleep for years.
The Château Margaux 1970 is a shy beauty that requires a little attention to open and show its full extent!
