Château Les Carmes Haut Brion has the particularity of being the only Château located in the very heart of the city of Bordeaux. Its 4.7 hectare vineyard extends between the communes of Bordeaux, Mérignac and Pessac, in the Pessac-Léognan appellation. The property grows vines of Merlot (55%), Cabernet Franc (30%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (15%) on soils composed of gravel, sand and clay on a limestone subsoil.

Enclosed in the heart of the city of Bordeaux and protected by the heat of the city, the vineyard of Château Les Carmes Haut Brion was completely spared by the frosts of late April 2017 allowing the property to obtain both good yields but also high quality berries.

Château Les Carmes Haut Brion 2017 is built around a blend dominated by 41% Carbernet Franc, completed by 30% Merlot and 29% Cabernet Sauvignon.
In the glass, it has a superb intense garnet/purple color and opens timidly with a discreet nose that develops with aeration to reveal a deep bouquet of red and black fruits rolled in notes of dried flowers, herbs, cinnamon and cocoa as well as a mineral touch of pencil lead.
On the palate, Château Les Carmes Haut Brion 2017 is medium-bodied with an abundant, granular tannic structure. Ample and refined, it offers deep red and black fruit aromas, perfectly ripe, coated in a silky texture, stretching in the mouth to let a mineral and saline touch emerge on a remarkable long finish.

Château les Carmes Haut Brion 2017 will undoubtedly be one of the greatest successes of the vintage. It is a must have for lovers of great Bordeaux wines.
