Situated in Saint-Emilion, on a ledge along the Dordogne, the vineyard of Château de Ferrand covers an area of 32 hectares in one piece. The vineyard consists of a mosaic of terroirs contributing to the great richness of the wine, with clay-limestone, clayey-sandy and compact marl soils on which are planted vines of Merlot (75%), Cabernet Franc (15%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (10%).

The vineyard of Château de Ferrand is worked according to the principles of sustainable viticulture, with mechanical ploughing and controlled yields.

Produced from a blend dominated by Merlot (73%), supplemented by Cabernet Franc (27%), Château de Ferrand 2019 has a deep, intense purple colour with a garnet edge.
On the nose, it reveals a charming bouquet of cooked and jammy black berries coated with floral notes of lavender and violets, forest floor, and a touch of licorice.
The palate is velvety and moderately full-bodied. The ripe, juicy black fruit core expresses its freshness in the mid-palate, supported by a silky tannic line and a soft texture, to finish with an elegant, spicy-tinged finish.

Rich, intense, deep and elegant, Château de Ferrand 2019 is a promising Grand Cru Classé with good ageing potential.
