Château Coutet is one of the best sweet wines of Barsac and Sauternes (alongside Yquem or Suduiraut). And with this 2009 vintage, Philippe Baly's team has done another exceptional job!

In the glass, the 2009 Château Coutet shows a beautiful golden color and distils an explosive bouquet loaded with rich, complex scents of white and yellow fruits, pineapple, and spring flowers as well as more subtle, gourmet notes of tea, verbena, and honey.
On the palate, Château Coutet 2009 opens with a vibrant attack. Aromas of yellow fruits and citrus melt into a fat and velvety texture. Unctuous and caressing, the 2009 Coutet evolves in the mouth, releasing increasing tension and weight to end on a long, persistent finish with an elegant mineral touch.

Château Coutet 2009 is just entering its peak of maturity. It can be enjoyed now but will continue to evolve for the next 15 years (at least).

Like all sweet Sauternes wines, Château Coutet 2009 is best enjoyed on its own, with blue cheese or a sweet dessert.
