A jewel of the Saint Estèphe appellation, Château Cos d' Estournel, Second Growth, is often worthy of the First Growth classification. It is produced from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot.

Although Château Cos d' Estournel 1994 may be a Second Cru, it outperforms most of the Saint Estèphe wines of the vintage.

It has a magnificent dense and opaque purple colour, with a refined and ripe bouquet of black fruits, vanilla and liquorice covered in smoky notes.
On the palate, the 1994 Cos d' Estournel is moderately full-bodied and impressively pure. It is a rich and balanced wine, with fruity aromas of great sweetness and velvety tannins.
