Founded in the 16th century by the Barreau-Badar family, Château Certan de May is situated on the Certan plateau, in the heart of the Pomerol appellation. Its vineyard covers an area of barely 5 hectares and is planted with 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.

The wines of Château Certan de May, like all Pomerol, do not appear in the 1855 classification. Nevertheless, they are world-renowned for their tender, precise structure, full of ripe and spicy fruit and can be kept for several dozen years.

Built around a Merlot core (70%) with Cabernet Franc (25%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (5%), Château Certan de May 2017 has a beautiful dark purple colour with brilliant reflections.
From the very first nose, Château Certan de May 2017 reveals a delicate and fresh bouquet of ripe black fruits, blackcurrants and blackberries, coated with vegetal notes as well as spicy and earthy touches.
Once in the mouth, Château Certan de May 2017 reveals a medium body with a supple and silky tannic structure. The aromas of black fruits abound and develop a great freshness on the palate then tighten until giving way to a finish, delicately worked and enhanced with herbaceous notes.
