The Domaine Joseph Roty was created at the end of the 1960s in Gevrey-Chambertin, under the initiative of Joseph Roty, descendant of a long line of Burgundian winegrowers.
Indeed, following the death of his grandfather, the latter bequeathed to him a few vines which were to serve as the starting point for the estate.
Today, it is his sons, Philippe and Pierre-Jean Roty, who manage the estate, becoming the 11th generation of family winegrowers!

Produced from a blend of 100% Pinot Noir from several plots and aged in 30% new oak barrels, the Marsannay Domaine Joseph Roty 2016 has a superb deep, dark colour.
In the glass, Joseph Roty's Marsannay 2016 distils a fresh, clean, deep bouquet loaded with scents of black berries such as blackcurrant as well as elegant notes of smoke and roasting.
On the palate, the Marsannay Domaine Joseph Roty 2016 offers a moderately full-bodied attack. The mid-palate shows a velvety profile with a straight, silky tannic structure. The fruity aromas are concentrated and gain depth as the remarkably long finish approaches.

Ready to drink, the Marsannay 2016 will remain at its peak of maturity for at least 15 years. It is certainly one of the best value wines from Domaine Joseph Roty.
