The 1959 Petrus vintage is composed of a blend of 100% Merlot harvested in the heart of the Pomerol appellation and presents a beautiful deep ruby robe with amber on the edges of the glass.
On the nose, it releases notes of black fruits, dominated by blackcurrant, as well as vegetal and woody touches.
On the palate, 1959 Petrus is compact and offers admirable depth. Despite a slight lack of complexity, it is a full-bodied, powerful and tannic Pomerol. The mouth is full of ripe, thick and jammy fruits leading to a remarkable long finish.

The 1959 vintage is not one of the best vintages in Pomerol but, as always, Petrus has come out of it admirably producing a great wine, mature and successful, whose ageing potential is not yet finished !
