Made up of a simple blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, Château La Dominique 2014 has benefited from vinification respecting parcel lots by fermenting in thermo-regulated stainless steel tanks of low capacities (less than 100hl).
This was followed by a slow maceration over 25 to 35 days, followed by malolactic fermentation in new barrels and finally 15 to 18 months of maturing in barrels (70% renewal each year).
Dressed in a splendid dark purple robe, willingly drawing on black, the 2014 Château La Dominique distils a very floral nose, with notes of violets and woody touches.
On the palate, we discover an elegant wine, medium-bodied, with floral aromas of very sweet violet and woody notes.
Despite the minority contribution of Cabernet Franc (15% only), they meet the Château's expectations: thanks to their exceptional ripeness, they bring a perfect structure to the wine, giving it great freshness and silky tannins.
Château La Dominique 2014 is a straight, elegantly structured wine, as fine on the nose as it is on the palate.
