Château Lagrange is a great name of the AOC Saint Julien, Château Lagrange is a third Classified Growth of 1855.
It is produced on an immense vineyard of 118 hectares composed mainly of gravelly Garonnaises hills, of silico-gravelly and clay-limestone soils. The vineyard is planted with vines of an average age of about thirty years.

The 2016 vintage of Château Lagrange is a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot and 6% Petit Verdot aged in 50% new oak barrels for 21 months.

The Château Lagrange (St Julien) is dressed in a beautiful dark and intense purple robe, tending towards the black.
On the nose, it distils a complex and lively bouquet of ripe black fruits, with cherries and blackcurrants, red plums and a very slight hint of blueberries, all wrapped in woody notes of cedar.
On the palate, the Lagrange 2016 is perfectly balanced between lively black fruits (blackberries, blackcurrants) with citrus notes and powerful, tenacious tannins.
Velvety and energetic, the tannic structure announces a wine with incredible ageing potential!

This Château Lagrange is particularly lively and energetic. It could well be one of the best Lagrange ever produced.
