Little known by the mainstream public, the Cru d' Arche Pugneau is nevertheless worthy of some of the greatest Sauternes.
Its (too?) small notoriety does not allow it to interest the critics too much, it does not benefit from a media coverage at the level of its rank...

However, it has happened that some of the great names of wine tasting have taken an interest in it. Robert parker, for example, noted the 1990 and 1991 vintages, respectively 88 and 91 out of 100.

Why does the Cru d' Arche Pugneau not benefit from the same treatment as the biggest Sauternes? It's a mystery...
What is certain, however, is that lovers of great Sauternes wines can take advantage of this opportunity to buy one of the best wines of the region at much lower prices than competitors (the prices are also linked to the reputation of an estate).

The 2002 Cru d' Arche Pugneau is a blend of two grape varieties: Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon.
The "Tries Exceptionnelles" represent the top-of-the-range wines of the domaine.

It is a sweet, complex, fruity and greedy wine, perfectly balanced between the freshness of the fruit, especially apricot, and the sweetness of honey, which gives it a heavy flavour in the mouth.

Like all great Sauternes wines, the Cru d' Arche Pugneau 2002 is a wine made for long ageing. It will only show its full potential after years in the cellar.

The Cru d' Arche Pugneau 2002 will be the perfect accompaniment to a dish of blue cheeses or a dessert based on fruit.
