Produced from a blend of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc, the 1971 Clos Fourtet has a beautiful ruby colour with a slightly brickly edge.
On the nose, the 1971 Clos Fourtet releases aromas of faded black and red fruits evolving on notes of cherries, and intermingled with burnt oak and dry herbs.
On the palate, it is rich and ample, distilling aromas of red cherries, blackberries and mocha as well as balsamic notes to finish on a medium finish, full of cherries and earthy notes.
