Bahans Haut Brion is the former name of Clarence de Haut Brion, the second wine of Château Haut Brion.
It is reputed to be one of Bordeaux's second best wines, particularly in its 1996 vintage.

The Bahans du Château Haut Brion 1996 is dressed in a beautiful dark garnet colour, intense and deep. After more than 20 years in the bottle, it shows no sign of aging.
On the nose, Bahans 1996 reveals very rich aromas of red and black fruits such as raspberry, blackcurrant or blueberry. These fruity scents are interspersed with subtle tobacco denotes making it look like its big brother, Château Haut Brion.
On the palate, Bahans Haut Brion 1996 reveals flavours of roasted herbs and burnt earth superimposed on layers of sweet black fruit already present in the nose. In the middle of the mouth notes of cocoa can be felt until a long, velvety and very fruity finish.

The Bahans Haut Brion 1996 will perfectly accompany dishes based on duck breast, ceps, or a plate of strong cheeses (Maroilles)
