Cinquième Cru Classé
Château Lynch Bages (Fifth Growth) stands alongside Mouton Rothschild or Latour at the top of the podium in the Pauillac appellation. It is made up of five typical AOC grape varieties: Cabernets Franc and Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot and Petit Verdot.
Château Lynch Bages 2000 is dressed in a beautiful purple colour, dense and opaque.
It has a powerful and fruity bouquet of blackcurrant cream mixed with softer notes of leather, tobacco and soil.
On the palate, Lynch Bages 2000 reveals itself with a muscular attack to arrive at a thick and juicy mid-palate, full of silky and abundant tannins. The black fruits present on the nose quickly line the palate until the finish, both long and staggered.
According to Jean Michel Cazes (owner of Château Lynch Bages), this 2000 vintage ranks among the four greatest vintages produced by the estate, shoulder to shoulder with the famous 1989,1990 and 1996 vintages.
