The Terre de Vertus was born in 1995 when Pierre Larmandier, in his quest for a pure Champagne, decided to create this plot-based cuvée, based on a single grape variety, a single plot, and without any dosage!

It is at the place called Les Barillers, in Vertus, that the Larmandier-Bernier Terre de Vertus cuvée comes to life. On this parcel, situated in the middle of the hillside, the Chardonnay expresses itself in the most beautiful way, revealing all the complexity, richness and saline minerality of this very special terroir.

After manual harvesting and a delicate pressing, the fruit is lightly settled before natural vinification. The wines are then matured in Stockinger tuns, on natural lees, without filtration or fining. The wines are then bottled and aged in the cellar for at least 5 years before being disgorged manually.

100% Chardonnay, the Champagne Larmandier-Bernier Terre de Vertu 1er Cru 2012 has a beautiful golden colour with a delicate and lively string of bubbles.
On the nose as well as on the palate, it offers an exceptional experience, revealing all the finesse and elegance of the terroir of Vertus in an explosion of fruity aromas, incredibly fresh and lively, supported by an unparalleled saline minerality!

Champagne Larmandier-Bernier Terre de Vertu 1er Cru 2012 is an extraordinary and unconventional champagne. Elegant, fine and refined, it can be drunk now but will continue to mature until 2022.
