Small family property, the Domaine Pichat has long been limited to exploiting the vines without producing its own wine. It was not until the 2000 vintage that Stéphane Pichat began to produce and market his own wine.

Located in Ampuis, in the Rhone Valley, the vineyard of Domaine Pichat extends over four hectares of sandy schist soil divided between the appellations of Côte-Rôtie and Condrieu. The vineyard's grape varieties are dominated by Syrah and completed by Viognier.

Respectful of the environment and biodiversity, the Domaine Pichat practices sustainable viticulture. The work of the vines is manual, without insecticides or pesticides, and the great majority of the phytosanitary products are certified AB (Organic Agriculture).

The Côte-Rôtie Domaine Pichat Champon's 2018 has a beautiful purple color with garnet reflections and distils a high-flying bouquet full of a multitude of small ripe red and black berries intermingled with vegetal notes.
Rich and complex, Côte-Rôtie Champon's 2018 offers a full-bodied attack followed by a straight, balanced mid-palate. The fruity aromas melt into silky tannins, quickly covering the palate, to finish with a lively and delicious finish.

Already ready for tasting, Côte-Rôtie Domaine Pichat Champon's 2018 will continue to mature until at least 2030.
