About Château La Mission Haut-Brion 2017
Bottle (75cl)

Château La Mission Haut Brion was created in the 17th century and is located in Talence, in the heart of the Pessac Léognan appellation. The estate is now the property of Clarence Dillon who has placed Jean-Philippe Delmas in his management.
Located right next to its rival, Château Haut Brion, the vineyard of Château La Mission Haut Brion extends over 28.5 hectares of gravelly soils of exceptional quality.

The year 2017 was not simple for the Bordeaux region: the frost at the end of April was very difficult for some properties. But fortunately for Château La Mission Haut Brion, the frost only affected less than one hectare of the vineyard, allowing the other plants to prosper until they reached full maturity. Only the Cabernet Franc plants suffered from the rain in mid-September, and were therefore partly removed from the final blend.

Château La Mission Haut Brion 2017 is built around a core of Merlot (56%) and Cabernet Sauvignon(39.6%), with only 4.4% Cabernet Franc.
It presents a beautiful deep purple color, almost black, leaving some garnet reflections. On the nose, Château La Mission Haut Brion 2017 distills a complex and intense bouquet of black fruits (blackcurrant and blackberry), cherries coated with dark chocolate, as well as subtle touches of tobacco or various spices.
Once on the palate, Château La Mission Haut Brion 2017 unfolds, medium-bodied, with a powerful, fine and granular tannic structure supporting vigorous aromas of black fruit mixed with touches of earth and minerals that stretch and grow along a tasty and seemingly endless finish.

Château La Mission Haut Brion also produces a second red wine, La Chapelle de La Mission Haut Brion.
