Located on a large gravel terrace of Pessac Léognan, the Château Haut Brion vineyard extends over approximately 80 hectares and shares a border with its eternal rival, Château La Mission Haut Brion.
Most of the vineyard of Château Haut Brion is devoted to the cultivation of red grape varieties. For the white grape varieties, the vines are fairly evenly distributed, with 53% Semillon and 47% Sauvignon blanc and gris.
Château Haut Brion Blanc 2017 is a First Growth of Graves produced from 56% Sauvignon Blanc and 44% Semillon harvested early at the end of August (between 22 and 30).
On the nose, Château Haut Brion 2017 offers a great purity full of yellow fruits aromas, such as plum, and citrus scents such as orange blossom or orange seeds. After some stirring, subtle mint notes are added to this fragrance blend.
Medium-bodied on the palate, Château Haut Brion 2017 opens wonderfully with aromas of yellow and tropical fruits intermixed with citrus notes. The midpalate invades the mouth with its velvety texture and reveals shy mineral notes as well as various spices that grow and wrap around the fruit until giving way to a delicious finish with impressive length.
